Job Title: Creative Project Manager Location: Washington, D.C. (Hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote) Department: Product Management – User Experience Team Long Term Contract About the Organization: This role sits within a large scientific publishing division that operates globally, with locations in the U.S., UK, Singapore, China, and India. The organization is dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge and supports a portfolio of 80+ peer-reviewed journals and a range of digital products and services. The division balances commercial success with a mission to support global research and innovation, particularly in the chemical sciences. About the Role: The Creative Project Manager will play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating UX design and research projects across the organization’s digital publishing platforms. You will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of quality, while fostering collaboration across cross-functional teams. This role reports to the User Experience Manager and supports the broader Product Management team. Key Responsibilities: Lead the end-to-end management of UX projects—from planning through execution and delivery. Collaborate with UX designers, researchers, product managers, marketers, and developers to define project goals, deliverables, timelines, and scope. Maintain detailed project documentation including timelines, budgets, risk mitigation plans, and progress updates. Facilitate regular check-ins, retrospectives, and stakeholder meetings to ensure alignment and transparency. Prioritize UX team workloads in line with business goals, capacity, and deadlines. Develop and refine project management processes to improve team efficiency and delivery outcomes. Encourage a creative, inclusive, and collaborative working environment. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience managing creative or product-related projects in a digital environment. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously. Strong understanding of creative processes and agile development methodologies. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven. Proficiency in tools such as ClickUp, Asana, Monday.com, or similar project management platforms. Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools like Teams, Slack, and Zoom. Preferred Qualifications: Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2). Familiarity with UX and research tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Hotjar, Maze, or Qualtrics. Knowledge of digital product development and/or scholarly publishing. Work Environment: This is a hybrid role based in Washington, D.C. Employees typically work three days per week in the office and two days remotely. New hires are eligible for hybrid work from day one.
