Job Summary The Bell Attendant manages, administers, directs, and controls the smooth, friendly, and efficient operation of the bell stand, ensuring that the guests' needs are handled promptly, efficiently, and courteously.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in carrying luggage for our guests as they come in or leave retrieve guest vehicles and tend the main entrance door and welcome/farewell guests, arrange and manage transfers, help guests with directions, and perform as the first and last impression for them. The following list is not exclusive nor all-inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.
- Greets all guests arriving and departing the hotel and holds the front doors as they enter and exit.
- Ensure guests feel welcomed to the hotel and provide excellent guest service.
- Carry baggage to the guests' room.
- Accurately tag and store luggage for guests as needed and maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing luggage.
- Safe drive the hotel vehicles
- Ensure the front lobby and front interior entrances are kept clean.
- Knowledge of the hotel property, hotel staff, hotel services, as well as hours of operation.
- Give clear and accurate directions to hotel facilities, rooms, and local area attractions.
- Suggest and "sell" the hotel's amenities (restaurant, lounge, spa, etc.)
- Pick up and deliver guest laundry for valet cleaning service.
- Responds to requests for service within prescribed timeline goals.
- Deliver packages and messages to guests.
- Assists guests arriving and departing the hotel.
Education and Experience High School education or equivalent experience. Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Qualifications Must be able to problem solve and troubleshoot to resolve guest issues that may arise and respond to emergencies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities To be successful in this role, you need basic English communication skills, the ability to speak, listen, write, and identify distress signs.
Must complete Bellman/Valet duties and follow an appropriate course of action based on policies and procedures.
Must be able to operate a computer, calculator, phone and other office equipment.
Attention to detail and good organizational and efficient time management skills is a must. Other skills include and are not limited to the following:

- Ability to handle guest complaints and concerns.
- Possess a valid driver's license and safely drive guest vehicles and/or shuttle/van.
- Have proof of a safe driving record as determined by RMV
- Is dependable, and attendance records meet established brand standards and guidelines.
- May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
- Focus and maintain attention to tasks and complete assignments on time despite frequent interruptions.
- Efficiently and accurately operate a computer.
- Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff and maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times.
Physical Requirements - Stand and walk for varying lengths, often long periods with little or no sitting.
- Use safe lifting techniques to lift approximately fifty (50) pounds of guest luggage or supplies on and off a cart.
- Push and Pull carts weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to work in extremely hot and/or cold conditions.
- Knowledge and ability to administer first aid.
- Direct evacuations in an emergency.
Note: Our Valet/Bellman position is weather-essential. Our Valet/Bellman are eligible for tips received from guests. Bellman requires you to be on your feet during the majority of the shift. Some areas of the hotel are only accessible via stairs, and our Valet/Bellman may need to carry guest luggage up or down up to five (5) flights of stairs.
